Obituary

Ernest F. Dick was the wife of Virginia L. (Shirley) Dykes

Dick for twenty-years. Previously he had been married to Doris (Wiley) Dick who passed away in 1984.

Mr. Dick was born on September 28, 1926 in Joppa, Maryland; he was the son of the late Edgar

and Esther (Falker) Dick. He was a 1944 graduate of Bel Air High School in Bel Air, Maryland.

He was a United States Army veteran serving in WWII. He had been awarded the Meritorious Unit Award, Army of Occupation Medal for Japan, Good Conduct Medal, and Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon. In addition, he was honored with the Philippine Liberation

Ribbon with Bronze Star and the WWII Victory Ribbon. Retiring in 1976, he had worked as a fire fighter at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Harford County, Maryland.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:

Two daughters:Diana M. Wilson of Delta, PA and Donna J. Browning of Lancaster, PA

Four stepsons: Rod Dykes of Bethesda, MD; Jim Dykes of Rock Hill, SC; Gene Dykes of Perry Hall, MD; Chris Dykes of Hyattsville, MD

Five grandchildren:Kelly Shoop of Atglen, PA; Mindy Fliss of Lancaster, PA; Jimmy, Laura, and John Wilson of Delta, PA

Two step grandchildren: Zach and Travis Dykes of Perry Hall, MD

One great grandchild: Aidan Vincent of Delta, PA

He was preceded in death by a brother, Frances Dick.
