ERVIN R. TAYLOR, Jr., age 88 years of Whiteford, MD died at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. He was the husband of Betty Marie (Jones) Taylor who died on December 17, 2007.

Mr. Taylor was born in Damascus, VA on June 5, 1925. He was a son of the late Ervin R. and Stella Edna (Jones) Taylor. Growing up on the family dairy farm, he went on to manage several other farms before leaving to begin working for the late L. Hyde Dooley at the John M. Dooley & Son Feed Mill in Cardiff, MD. He later began working for Southern States at their Whiteford, MD facility prior to moving to the Maryland State Highway Administration from which he retired.

Mr. Taylor was a charter member of the Reformation Bible Church, Darlington, MD

He is survived by six children:

Robert Taylor and his wife Connie of Callao, VA

D. Michael Taylor of Whiteford, MD

Larry K. Taylor and his wife Alice of Whiteford, MD

Gary B. Taylor and his wife Deborah of Whiteford, MD

Bonnie Bennett and her husband Russell of Brogue, PA

Linda L. Duncan and her husband Ed of Livingston, TX

One sister: Gladys Jones of Delta, PA

Two brothers: Rev. Reuben Taylor of Pacoima, CA

David Taylor of Whiteford, MD

Mr. Taylor also leaves six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, four step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.

Officiating will be his pastor, Rev. Dr. John McKnight.

Interment will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens.

Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Sunday evening, November 24 from 6 to 8 p.m.
