Esther Marie Glenn (née Atkins), 62, of Airville, passed away on March 19, 2026, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, whimsy, and pursuit of knowledge.
Esther is survived by her husband, Mitchell Glenn; her sons, Adrian Glenn and Kenneth Morton, Jr.; her grandchildren, Mabel Morton and Marigold Morton; her daughter-in-law, Samantha Morton; her sister, Mary Jo Eaton; her mother-in-law, Sue Glenn, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Caleb and Verna Atkins; her beloved daughter, Amber Glenn; and her sister, Teresa Dick.
As Esther loved the writing of old Dr. Seuss, the only way to pay tribute to this silly goose, would be in rhyme with humor and flair, to match the way she lived with such loving care.
Esther devoted her life to caring each day, for family and friends in her own special way. She found in this life her purpose so true, a calling she followed in all that she’d do.
She puzzled and gamed, and she read and she thought. She shared all the wisdom and wonder she got. She wrote silly songs, full of laughter and glee, and passed down that talent to her beloved family.
But songs weren’t the only way Esther would share. She’d brew up a pot and pull up a chair. No matter the hour, she’d fill up your cup, and once you sat down, well, you didn’t get up! For the stories would flow and the laughter would pour, and somehow one cup always turned into more.
And when she’d step outside with the sun on her face, she’d find something magic in the most ordinary place. Now most of us wander through clover and grass, and never once notice four-leafers we pass. But Esther would find them! Oh yes, yes she would! She’d search every patch in the yard and the wood. And maybe that’s just who she was, through and through — someone who found the good in all things, and in you.
Oh, the places she went, and the love that she grew, in the hearts of her family and dear friends, too. She has traveled along to a farther-off shore, but she left so much love that there’s plenty in store. For her love is not lost — oh no, not a bit! It is tucked in the stories and perfectly fit, in the joy that she gave, and the laughter we shared, in the lives she has touched, in the way that she cared.
And though she has left us, she’s not far away — for her love lives on when we remember to play. So go forth and frolic, enjoy the sun on your face. Esther’s love is with you no matter the place.
