Esther R. Harmon, age 79 years of Middle River, MD died on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Franklin Square Hospital in Rosedale, MD. She was the wife of the late George E. Harmon, Sr. who died in 1989.

Mrs. Harmon was born on July 31, 1932 in Pylesville, MD a daughter of the late Robert Chester and Esther Pearl (Jones) Vickers. Mrs. Harmon had worked at the former Bata Shoe Company before it closed and then at Old Line Plastics in Forest Hill, MD, retiring in 2000 after 16 years.

She is survived by

A daughter- Esther M. Strebeck of Middle River, MD

A son George E. Harmon, Jr. of Elkton, MD

7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

2 brothers- John Vickers of Delta, PA and Jim Vickers of North Carolina

2 sisters- Linda Fizer of Whiteford, MD and Margaret (Peg) Jones.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Anne Harmon in 1984.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 28 at 11:00 AM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Delta, PA with Pastor Fred Dyer of White Marsh Baptist Church officiating.

Visitation will be on Friday, Jan. 27 from 7-9 PM at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Slate Ridge Cemetery
