EVELYN J. ALMONEY, age 83 years of New Park, PA died on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the Barbara J. Egan Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Shrewsbury, PA. She was the wife of James W. Smith who died in September 1989 and Herbert J. Almoney who died in May 2006.

Born on June 7, 1930 in Pylesville, MD, she was a daughter of the late Raymond W. and Mae A. (Fletcher) Heaps. A lifetime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Pylesville, she was active in church activities and head cook at the church dinners for many years. Retiring as a supervisor in 1980, Mrs. Almoney had worked 28 years for the former D&D Sewing Company of Delta. She was a member of the American Legion Post #455 in Stewartstown and the Norrisville V.F.C. in Harford County MD.

Margaret A. Stevens and James R. Smith, both of Pylesville, MD

Terry Lee Lowe of New Park, PA

Seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren

A sister, Elsie L. Heaps of Belcamp, MD

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Cletus N. Heaps and William L. Heaps.

Visitations will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with her pastor, Reverend Melissa McDade officiating.

Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Pylesville, MD.
