F. HAROLD ZIMMERMAN, age 88 years, of York, PA, formerly of Fawn Grove, died on Saturday, May 5, 2012 in his home in the Country Meadows Retirement Community. He was the husband of Marie (Torbert) Zimmerman with whom he had shared 68 years of marriage.
Born on August 28, 1923 in the High Rock area of Airville, he was a son of the late Myles Nathaniel and Marceline (Grimes) Zimmerman. After graduating in 1942 from the former Fawn Township Vocational High School, he was employed by the former Glenn L. Martin Company. From April 1944 until May 1946, Mr. Zimmerman served with the United States Army Air Forces as a nose gunner on a B-24 Liberator.
In 1946, he began his career as a plumber with the former J.E. Warner Plumbing and later the J.A. Warner Plumbing Company of Fawn Grove, PA, retiring in 1986. Mr. Zimmerman was a member of the Guinston Presbyterian Church for over 70 years serving as an elder, Sunday School Teacher and choir member.
A Corvair enthusiast, he owned many cars over the years and was an active member of the Central PA Corvair Club.

Joseph Jordan and his wife, Alissa of Jacobus, PA
Six great grandchildren-
Samantha Hyson, Heather Hyson, Victoria Hyson, Jordan Helsel, Dylan Helsel, and Stella Jordan.
A brother, H. Eugene Zimmerman and his wife, Roberta of Red Lion, PA
He was preceded in death by two brothers, M. Kenneth Zimmerman and Edwin Zimmerman.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Guinston Presbyterian Church, 14130 Guinston Forge Road, Airville, PA 17302 with interment in the adjoining church cemetery.
Military honors will be presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may call at the church from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate memorial contributions to the church at the above address.
