Obituary

GENEVA M. MULLIGAN, age 84 years, died on Saturday, October 8, 2011 in her daughter�s home in Jarrettsville, MD. She was the wife of John Walter Mulligan who died in 1988.

Born on May 23, 1927, she was a daughter of Earl and Hassie (Mink) Adams. Mrs. Mulligan joined the First Baptist Church of Delta, PA at the age of 20 where she taught Sunday School for the Beginners, Primary, and both Sunday School and Training Union for the Junior Department. She also directed the Adult Choir for approximately 12 years.

After moving her membership to North Harford Baptist Church, she was faithful to the church for 51 years. During that time, she directed the choir, was director of W.M.U., worked in the Nursery and Junior Departments in Sunday School, was a G.A. Leader and served one term as Association Director of the W.M. U.

Mrs. Mulligan worked for the former Fawn Grove Manufacturing Company and after retiring from the former D&D Sewing Factory of Delta, she offered volunteer work at the Sandy Cove Gospel Retreat in North East, MD. For 19 years she served at the retreat until vision difficulties prevented her from driving.

She is survived by:

Charles R. Mulligan and Nancy M. Knopp, both of Jarrettsville, MD

Three grandchildren-

James Knopp, Jr., John Knopp and Jeremy Knopp, all of Jarrettsville, MD

Two great grandsons-

Jakob and Kaleb Knopp

Two sisters-

Mary Hensley of Pylesville, MD

Thelma Stamper of Bel Air, MD

Five brothers-

Robert Adams of Jarrettsville, MD

Earl Adams of Ogden, Utah

Allen Adams, Wayne Adams, and Phillip Adams, all of Jarrettsville, MD

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Senia Philips and Estella Little

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. at North Harford Baptist Church, 4008 Old Federal Hill Road, Jarrettsville, MD with her pastor, Reverend John W. Manry officiating.

Interment will be in William Watters Cemetery, Jarrettsville, MD.

Friends may call at the church on Wednesday, the 12th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
