Obituary

George Albert Miller, age 77 years, of Whiteford, MD, passed away at his home on Thursday,

July 29, 2021.

Born in Glen Ridge, NJ, on September 29, 1943, he was the only child of Charles

E. and June A. (Rich) Miller. He moved to Whiteford with his family at the age of six. As a boy

George was very active in Boy Scouts earning the rank of Life Scout. After graduating from

North Harford High School, and earning an Associate's degree in engineering from Penn State

University's York Campus, he began his employment at the NSA, where he worked for several

years until his father became ill and he returned to the family farm in Whiteford to oversee

the operations. Maintaining the farm equipment was of most interest to him, and he further

developed his talents as an excavator, heavy equipment operator, machinist, welder, fabricator,

and diesel mechanic. He spent the rest of his life operating his home-based business, George

Miller Machine, a career he thoroughly enjoyed. George's shop was always open for friends to

visit, to talk, tell stories or bring him challenges to solve. Researching solutions to mechanical

problems and solving them challenged him to hone his talents over his career. Friends and family

often stated "If it can't be fixed, take it to George."

George was a caring man, loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by Rita Maxine

(Delp) Miller, his wife of 40 years.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by:

Two children:

Scott Allen Jones and his wife, Mary Evelyn Jones of Whiteford, MD.

Wendy Michell Krouse and her husband, Harry Latimer Krouse, III of Whiteford, MD.

Four grandchildren:

Samuel Levi Krouse

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Lyn Jones, who passed away on January 27,

2021, and his grandson, Kyle Anthony Jones, who passed away on January 10, 2019.
