GEORGE EDWARD BOYD, 87 of Fawn Grove, PA went to be with his Lord and Savior from York Hospital, York, PA on Sunday, January 22, 2023. Born on March 2, 1935 in Tazewell, VA, he was a son of the late Sherman Earl Boyd and Clara Beatrice (Graham) Boyd.

Employed with Union Local #191 of York, PA, he had worked as a carpenter for 45 years, retiring in 1996. He was an avid "coon" hunter searching at night for the animals and had a UKC Championship dog, PAPPY at his side. George was known to be able to do just about everything and always willing to help to others. His CB handle was "Muleskinner" and he loved to go to McDonald's to eat there or take home some of his favorites. George always kept cookies in a jar on the kitchen table to share when family and friends came to visit and was known to sneak a few himself.

George loved the Lord and was a faithful servant. He was dedicated to his faith and was a longtime member of Belview Freewill Baptist Church of Delta, PA where he had served for over 50 years as a deacon. He greeted everyone that came to worship making them feel welcome with his kind smile and gentle spirit. His family remarked that he had a great sense of humor and was a prankster. His kindness and caring nature will be missed.

His wife, Lucy M. (Belcher) Boyd with whom he had shared 27 years of marriage.

Daril Boyd (Shirley) of Lancaster, PA

Deborah Garvine (Brian) of Delta, PA

A sister, Blanche Lloyd of York New Salem, PA

Son-in-law, Barry Warner (husband of his late daughter, Barbara)

Five grandchildren-

Zachary Dotson, Amber Enderlein (Brad); William Edward Boyd (Jen); Meghan Garvine and Mark Warner (Donna)

Six great grandchildren-

Ryan, Maddie, Chance, Olivia, Carson and Charlotte and a great-great granddaughter, Hadley

He was preceded in death by:

His first wife, Jessie Deloris (Roberts) Boyd; sister, Alice Dowell; brothers: Herschel Boyd and Ralph Boyd.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 26th from 6-8 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA where the funeral will begin on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Union Chapel Cemetery, 171 Slab Road, Delta, PA next to his first wife.
