Obituary

GEORGE HOWARD AMOS, 85, of Street, MD, died early Sunday morning, October 7, 2018, on the family farm where he began his life on May 15, 1933. He was the son of the late Frank and Maude (Townsley) Amos, and the beloved husband of Helen M. (Holford) Amos of nearly 43 years.

George was part of the first graduating class of North Harford High School in 1951. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, Seabees, from 1955 to 1957. His professional career included farming, logging with his wife, builder, developer, and realtor/broker. George loved baseball, soccer and enjoyed summers with his wife at their beach home. He was loved by his family and many friends, always willing to help those in need. He was a life-long member of Emory United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Vickie (Robert) Stenger, Sandy (Erich) Schmitt, Scott (Rebecca) Amos, step-son, Kevin Paruszewski, sister, Arlene Mallory, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters: Margaret Amos and Dorothy Foard.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018, at 12 noon in Emory United Methodist Church, 911 Cherry Hill Road, Street, MD 21154 with the church minister, Pastor Stephen E. Smith officiating. Everyone is invited for a time of reflection and refreshments immediately following the service in the church social hall. Interment will be private in the church cemetery.

Starts at 12:00 pm

Please gather in the sanctuary for the service as there will not be a visitation prior to the ceremony. The family will greet everyone in the church social hall immediately after the funeral.
