GEORGE L. SCHRUEFER, SR., age 83 years of Delta, PA, died in his home on Tuesday, January 21, 2014. He was the husband of Irene H. Schruefer who died on December 26, 2002.

Born on November 16, 1930 in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late John C. and Agnes (Schultz) Schruefer. Mr. Schruefer, formerly of Delaware, was a United States Marine Veteran serving from 1952 to 1954. He was a lifetime member of both the American Legion Post #182 of Whiteford, MD and the VFW Post #7130 in Delta, PA in addition to membership with the AmeriVets organization. Mr. Schruefer had worked as a grocery representative for Crossmark, Inc. for over 20 years and enjoyed fishing.

A son, George L. Schruefer, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Delta, PA

A stepdaughter, Brenda A. Holmes and her husband, David of Delta, PA

A stepson, Douglas G. Polland, Sr., of Mount Storm, WV

A sister, Jeanette Converso of Parkville, MD

Two grandchildren, Eric and Jessica Schruefer

Five step grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews.
