Gladys Martha Leister, 87, died at York South Nursing and Rehabilitation, on Monday, November 27, 2023. Gladys was born in Essex, MD, to her late parents, Herman and Pauline (Dietz) Gellert. She was married to her beloved husband, Stanley E. Leister, until his death on November 1, 2016.

Gladys graduated from Kenwood High School in 1954. She was a loving wife and mother. She worked for many years as the office manager for her husband's business. She and Stan loved to travel, visiting most of states in our country in their motor home. She was a proud Jehovah's Witness and took very seriously her mission and ministry of talking with people about the blessings that the God's Kingdom will bring.

Gladys is survived by her son, Stanley E. Leister, Jr. and his wife, Bonnie of Windsor, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Linda Sheffield, of Jarrettsville, MD, and Richard Leister, of Charlotte, NC, and her great grandchildren; Eric Sheffield, of Dekalb, IL and Jason Mackenzie, of Tampa, FL.

In addition to her parents and husband, Gladys was predeceased by a son, Richard J. Leister and her sisters, Dorothy Dieter and Mildred Kutz.

A Memorial Service will be held on December 23, 2023, at 2:30 pm, at the Fawn Grove Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 987 Brown Road, New Park, PA. The speaker will be Mr. David Boyce.
