GRACE SEXTON BLEVINS, age 63 years, of Darlington, Maryland died on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. She was the wife of Ralph L. Blevins, and they had observed their 39th.wedding anniversary in May 2009.
Born April 30, 1946 in Street, Maryland, she was a daughter of the late Doughton Porter and Nannie Lee (Pennington) Sexton. Grace was a 1964 graduate of Bel Air High School. Prior to her retirement in 2004, she was a supply supervisor for the United States Purchasing and Fiscal Office of the Maryland National Guard in Havre de Grace, Maryland. She was a member of the Trinity Free Will Baptist Church, Darlington.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by:
A son, Brian Blevins and his companion, Sara of St. Francis Minnesota
A daughter, Lisa Edwards and her husband, Darren of Chesterfield, South Carolina
Four grandchildren-
Eric Campbell, Danielle Edwards, D.J. Edwards and Joseph Blevins
A sister, Emma L. Testerman of Conowingo, Maryland
Six brothers-
Kyle E. Sexton of Marion, Virginia
Robert E. Sexton, John W. Sexton and Richard A. Sexton, all of Darlington, Maryland
Bruce T. Sexton and Jeffrey W. Sexton, both of Street, Maryland
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred D. Sexton and Harold A. Sexton
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, December 23rd from 10 to11 a.m. at Trinity Free Will Baptist Church, 3414 Cedar Church Road, Darlington, MD 21034
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 23rd at 11 a.m. at the church. Her minister, Pastor Christopher Karschner will officiate.
Interment will be in the Darlington Cemetery, Darlington, Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church at the above address.
