Obituary

HAROLD G. BARRETT, age 93 years, of White Hall, Maryland died on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at the Rock Spring Village in Forest Hill, Maryland. He was the husband of Lillian Conner Barrett who died on June 5, 1983.

Mr. Barrett was born on September 3, 1914 in Rising Sun, Maryland; he was a son of the late Clifford R. and Cathleen (Ferguson) Barrett. Moving from Cecil County, he had lived in Harford County, Maryland since 1937 and was a member of the Maryland Farm Bureau. He had farmed in Jarrettsville, Darlington and in Cecil County until 1953 when he accepted a position with Southern States. Mr. Barrett had worked at the company's former locations in Jarrettsville and Shawsville before retiring as manager from the former Whiteford location in 1986 with 33 years of service. He was a member of the Highland Presbyterian Church in Street, Maryland where he had served an elder and trustee. He enjoyed square dancing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by:

Two sons-

Richard A. Barrett and his wife, Ruth Ann of White Hall, Maryland

Robert E. Barrett and his wife, Sharon of Street, Maryland

Four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren

Two sisters-

Helen Coulter and her husband, George Coulter and

Ruth Kyle, all of Rising Sun, Maryland

A sister-in-law, Myra Barrett of Colora, Maryland

Numerous loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Paul E. Barrett on April 6, 1988 and his brother, Earl Barrett.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania where the funeral service will begin at 11 AM.

His pastor, Reverend John V. Carlson will preside.

Interment will be in West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora. Maryland.

Pallbearers will be Robert Barrett, Keith Ford, Jeremy Treadwell, Ellis Barrett, Steve Barrett and Wayne Kyle.
