Harry T. McCallister, Jr., age 98 years, of Pylesville, MD, died at his home at 12:34 p.m. on Friday, January 1, 2021. He was the husband of Dorothy (Miller) McCallister, and at the time of her death on July 1, 2014, they were less than a week away from their 68th wedding anniversary.

Harry was born in Pylesville, MD, on December 13, 1922, the son of the late Harry Turner and Lydia (Bailey) McCallister, Sr. He was a carpenter and spent his career building homes in both Maryland and Pennsylvania. A farmer at heart, in the evenings, and on the weekends, he farmed and raised beef cattle at his home, "McCallister Farm."

He enjoyed bowling, once participating in two leagues simultaneously, with a high game of 290. Harry and Dorothy traveled the United States extensively, often with Red Lion Bus Tours.

Harry will be remembered for the quality of his work, his pleasant demeanor, and his humble nature. He was affiliated throughout his life with the former Delta United Methodist Church, where he was an active member.

He is survived by three children

Graveside funeral services and interment will be on Friday, January 8, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, PA.

Officiating will be Pastor Beth Holz, Carol Burkindine, CLM, and Pastor Rodney Stamper.
