HARVEY EDWARD DAWSON, 85 years of Darlington, MD, died in his home on Tuesday, March 8, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Joan Teresa (Devonshire) Dawson with whom he had shared 62 years of marriage.
Born on January 20, 1931 in Whiteford, MD, he was a son of the late Charles G. and May (Stearns) Dawson and a veteran of the Korean War where he received the Purple Heart medal. A welder, Mr. Dawson worked for a combined 22 years for Wally's Ship Yard and in the construction of the Harbor Tunnel. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially Rock fishing in the Susquehanna River.

Donna Bosley and her husband, Charles; Larry Dawson, Sr. and his wife, Sandy; Phyllis Dawson; Patti Preston and her husband, Jim; Tina Brewer and her husband, Lee; Lisa Beavers and her husband, Toby Beavers, Jr.
Six grandchildren-
Larry Dawson, Jr.; Ben Dawson; Nichole Dawson; Eddie Brewer; JD Preston and Lucas Beavers
Three great grandchildren-
Maggie, Harper and Jaylen.
Two brothers-
George Dawson and Roland Dawson
Two sisters-
Margaret McLaughlin and Joan Waugh
He was preceded in death by:
His grandson, Ryan Bosley
Brothers-Charles, Jimmy, Grant, Glen and Richard
His sister, Stella
Services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Church of the Ascension, 3015 Dublin Road, Street, MD where a time for visitation with the family will be held from 1 to 2 p.m.
