HARVEY EUGENE COMER, 84 of Zephyrhills, FL, formerly of Street, MD died on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. He was the longtime partner of Darlyne Yvonne Belcher and truly, he was the love of her life.

Born on October 30, 1940 in Rocks, MD, he was one of five children born to the late James Andrew Comer and Nola May (Ball) Comer and had attended North Harford High School. Harvey worked as a machinist/welder for Harford Metal, Aberdeen while attending barber school in Baltimore. He then purchased a B Model Mack Tractor and began long distant hauling for George Transfer. As a master barber, in 1970 he opened a barbershop next to the former Corner Bar (where Royal Farms is located in Dublin) followed with opening Harvey's Place in 1974 where he moved the barber shop to a section of the restaurant building. In 1987, he opened his second location called Harvey's JR on Rt. 1 in Darlington.

Harvey purchased the Cedar Gun Club on Poole Road and he served as chairman one the 1968 NHHS Reunion Committee. Harvey and Darlyne were very talented shuffleboard players and he was inducted into the Harford/Cecil Counties Hall of Fame. In 2021, both were inducted into the Philadelphia Shuffleboard Hall of Fame. Harvey was later inducted into the National Shuffleboard Hall of Fame in Reno, NV. Harvey retired, and they moved to Zephyrhills, FL where they continued to play as well as getting together with the neighbor for card games. Harvey loved to stay in touch with his Maryland family and friends through phone calls. Darlyne remarked that she will miss their wonderful life together, and they have enjoyed 51 years. His family will miss his advice, sense of humor and sarcastic comments. Harvey leaves a treasure of memories to cherish.

Harvey was a very loving man and cared for Darlyne's family as if they were his own:

Four great grandchildren-Reese, Ryan and twins: Emersen and Sophia

Harvey was preceded in death by his siblings: Arbutus Comer Hilton, James Marvin Comer and Betty Louise Comer Dowell; children Pamela Jack and Mark Belcher.

Pallbearers will be Russell Comer, Cory Randow, Mike Rainke, Jeff Hatfield, Roy Randow and David Coblentz and serving as a honorary pallbearer will be JR Hilton.
