Hayden Leroy Foy, Sr., 91, of Whiteford, MD, died peacefully at home on Thursday, July 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Hayden was born in Baltimore, MD, to his late parents, Hayden N. and Margaret E. (Scheck) Foy. His loving wife of 70 years, June L. (Nixon) Foy, survives at home.
Hayden was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Following discharge from active duty, Hayden worked as a mill operator for Bethlehem Steel, retiring after 40 years of dedicated service. Hayden was a devoted family man, who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly. He never met a stranger and enjoyed a good conversation with just about anyone. Hayden enjoyed always being busy, either working around his home, or, being surrounded by those he loved most. He loved the Lord and was ordained as a deacon at Middle River Baptist Church. Most recently, he and June attended and worshiped at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to his loving wife at home, Hayden is survived by his children; Hayden Leroy Foy, Jr. and his wife Diane L., of Red Lion, PA and Terry Lee Foy, Sr. and his wife Susan L., of Abingdon, MD. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Hayden L. Foy, III and his wife Jennifer, Melanie June Shelly and her husband Joshua A., Jacob Aaron Foy, Terry L. Foy, Jr. and his wife Mandi, Jennifer Rose Matthews and her husband Eddie, Megan Elise Foy, 16 great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and one sister, Artella McCroskey, of Ocala, FL. Many beloved nieces and nephews will cherish their memories of Hayden.
In addition to his parents, Hayden was predeceased by his siblings, Gertrude Steinhilber, Regina Weber, Lula Mae Kissinger and Joseph Richard Foy.
A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 9:30 am until 11:00 am at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, 3135 Dublin Road, Street, MD. A memorial service will begin in the sanctuary of the church at 11:00 am with Pastor Tracy J. Duvall officiating. A private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family on a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harkins Funeral Home, Inc., of Delta, PA.
