FAMILY PREPARED THE OBITUARY - Helen K. Hood, 85 of York, PA, went to be with her Savior on Sunday, November 6, 2021, after a brief stay at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in York. Born on August 25, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Gwen Kilburn of Cardiff, MD. Helen was a member of the graduating class of 1954 of North Harford High School, and while a student there met the love of her life, Dick. They were married after high school and soon relocated to Plymouth, MA

Helen was a person of great faith and strong conviction. She was deeply involved in church organizations in both Plymouth and later in York. She was a long-time member of the Plymouth Antiquarian Society and served for years as Chair of the Spooner House Museum. Proud of her Welsh heritage, she was a lifelong musician and lover of music, singing as both a soloist and member of several choirs.

Helen is survived by her son Richard, daughter in law Paulette, and granddaughter Paige, all of whom live in Maryland.

Services will be conducted on Friday November 19, at East Prospect United Methodist Church in East Prospect, PA. Visitation will be at 10:00, funeral at 11:00 with Pastor Al Horst officiating with Reverend James E. Lewis. Internment at Slateville Cemetery in Delta, PA immediately following.
