HERBERT E. ALMONEY, age 93 years, of Delta, Pennsylvania died on May 8, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. in his home. He was the husband of Evelyn J. (Heaps-Smith) Almoney to whom he was married for seven years and husband of Izola Almoney who died on December 2, 1994.

Mr. Almoney, a lifetime resident of lower York County, was born on October 15, 1912 in Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania. He was a son of the late John Emory and Alice (Webb) Almoney. He had been employed for twenty-eight years at Line Metal Manufacturing in York, Pennsylvania. He was a farmer, loving horses, and cutting wood. Herb was extremely fond of his farmland and very compassionate in caring for his property. He often could be seen mowing and caring for his gardens. He was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania.

Twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 12, 2006 at 2:00 PM Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 786 Mt. Olivet Church Road, Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania.

His pastor, Reverend Dennis L. McCleary will officiate.

Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2006 from6-9 PM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Citizens Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 6, Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania 17321 or Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, PO Box 74, Fawn Grove, PA.

Pallbearers will be David Watson, Jeffrey Almoney, Jeremy Almoney, Sam Almoney, Jr., Michael Almoney, Bill King, Jr., Chris Moser, and Steve Almoney.
