Howard Eli (Howdy) Houser, born in Delta, PA on August 19, 1927, died on March 28, 2011 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church, VA. He was 83 years old.

Mr. Houser had moved to Virginia in 2006 to be near his nephew Robert Atkins who managed his affairs. Prior to moving to Virginia he had lived in Delta and Brogue, PA where he returned after he retired. He had been employed with the Pennsbury, PA School District as a teacher and administrator for over 40 years. He was a graduate of the former West Chester State teacher's College and had received his Master's degree from Temple University.

He is survived by his children- Blake Houser and Tara Bareuther of Levittown, Pa - Wendi Terlecky of Lansdale, PA - Brett Houser of Philadelphia, PA and a stepdaughter Nyla Beth Houser of Washington, DC.

3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters- Florence Plett and Clara Dickie Clark and his former wife Margaret.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 10 AM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Delta, PA.
