HUGH F.X. MCNALLY, age 79 years, of Delta, Pennsylvania entered into rest on Sunday, February 22, 2009 in his home after a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Barbara A. (Wilko) McNally with whom he celebrated twenty-five years of marriage.

Hughie was born on December 20, 1929 in the Germantown Section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; he was a son of the late Arthur and Evelyn (McCartin) McNally. He was employed as a boilermaker for the Exelon Corporation, formerly the Philadelphia Electric Company, for forty-six years, retiring in 1991. In retirement, he was an invaluable employee for Harkins Funeral Home. Hughie was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.

Hughie had received his 4th degree with the Knights of Columbus and was currently a member of the Bel Air Council #4714 in Bel Air, Maryland. Hughie loved to garden and do home repairs in his spare time. He enjoyed being active and was known as "The Life of the Party."

Eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren

A brother, James McNally.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph McNally and a sister, Katherine Mertens.

Visitations will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2009 from 2 to 4 PM, 7 to 9 PM, and on Friday, the 27th from 9:30 to 10:15 AM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 1021 St. Mary's Road, Pylesville, Maryland.

Reverend A. Henry Kunkel, III will be the celebrant.

Interment will be in Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, Pennsylvania.

Pallbearers will be Joseph McNally, Hugh McNally, Jr.; Joseph Layton, Richard Workman and Louis Macauly.
