Iona Donna Pollard, 85, of Bel Air, MD, died on September 14, 2021 at Bel Air Health and Rehab. Iona was married to the late Dennis D. Pollard, who died on July 8, 1976. She was born in Rocky Hollow in Grayson County, Virginia, to the late Ovid R. Blevins and Donna M. (Parks) Blevins.

She married Dennis, a coal miner, in November of 1956 and they made their home in Barrett, West Virginia. She worked hard as a coal miner's wife and lived life in bliss until Dennis's untimely death. She later settled in Huntington, West Virginia where she enjoyed her time with many dear friends. Iona loved the Lord. She faithfully worshipped at Laurel Gap Baptist Church in Ashland Kentucky. Although she was a private individual, she loved to sing, travel and eat out at restaurants (where she acted as an unofficial food critic). While she enjoyed these activities, her family provided the most joy in her life.

Iona is survived by her sister, Frances R. Lehr, of Darlington, MD. She is also survived by two nieces, Donna and Denise and three nephews; Dennis, Jimmy and Keith. A host of great-nieces and great-nephews are left to cherish her memory.

In addition to her husband, father and mother, Iona was predeceased by one sister, Betty J. Privett.

A visitation will be held at Harkins Funeral Home, Inc., 600 Main Street, Delta, PA 17314, on Monday, September 20, 2021 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, Inc., with Pastor Ricky Blackburn officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Scott, Jacob Scott, Travis Rudd, Devin Blackburn, Josh Meadows, and Austin Meadows. Interment will immediately follow at Darlington Cemetery, Darlington, MD.
