JAMES E. TAYLOR, age 83 years, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, formerly of Delta, Pennsylvania, died on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Lancaster Regional Medical Center in Lancaster. He was the husband of Evelyn (Girvin) Taylor and the late Ruth Marie (Workman) Taylor who died in March 1982.
Mr. Taylor was born on June 1, 1923 in Damascus, Virginia a son of the late Ervin Ryland and Stella Edna (Jones) Taylor. He was a United States Army veteran of WWII serving in the European Theater with the 191st Chemical Depot Company. After the war, he worked at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Harford County, Maryland until his retirement in June, 1978. He was a member of the Pleasant Home Regular Baptist Church in Airville, Pennsylvania. He enjoyed time with his family and outdoor activities.

He was preceded in death by two sisters-Nellie Herring and Elizabeth Trimble.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania.
His pastor, Elder Tom Pruitt will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 PM on Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Union Chapel, Delta, Pennsylvania.
