James "Jimmy" Carl McAllister, 67, of Delta, Pennsylvania, passed away on January 10, 2026. A Lifelong resident of Delta Borough, Jimmy was born on May 18, 1958, in Havre de Grace, Maryland, to the late John Thomas "Tommy" and Bertha (Frey) McAllister.
A proud veteran, Jimmy joined the U.S. Army in 1982. He reached the rank of Sergeant before transitioning to civilian life in 1985 to work as a welder at Aberdeen Proving Ground, with his focus on the U.S. Army Combat Systems Test Activity Superpond. He continued his service in the Army Reserves until 1988. He also served as superintendent for Keystruct Construction and Real Services, both of York PA.
Known as an expert craftsman, Jimmy possessed a wealth of knowledge, the ability to build anything, and a tireless work ethic. His final project was overseeing all building and expansions at Molly Hill Farm, a place and people he held very dear. As a lifelong resident and dedicated community member of Delta, PA, he served as a longtime member of the Delta Borough Zone Hearing Board and as the local Zoning Officer. He was a son, a father, a brother, a friend to all; there is nothing Jimmy wouldn't do for others.
He is survived by his children: Erin McAllister (Charles Culp) of Red Lion, PA; Neil McAllister of Perry Hall, MD; Liam McAllister of Delta, PA; and Jordan Hammond (John Hammond) of York, PA. He was most proud to be the grandfather of Elijah, Ariel, Nadia and Amelia. Jimmy also leaves behind his siblings: Maxine (Greg) Moul, Wayne McAllister, Melinda Jones, Bobby McAllister, and Brian (Misty) McAllister; and many nieces and nephews, all of Delta.
Interment services will be private at the convenience of the family. Wagner-Elfner and Harkins Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 600 Main Street, Delta, PA 17314, is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
Family and friends are invited to please join the family for a Memorial and Celebration of Life, to be held at Molly Hill Farm, Whiteford, Maryland on February 7th at 1 PM.
