Obituary

Life story prepared by his loving family - James Lee Turk III, age 30, died on March 21, 2021, in Bel Air, MD.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Mead Turk of Delta, PA; his mother, Karen Teresa Turk (Hughes) of Havre de Grace, MD, his sister, Kaeley Turk, and her fiancé Justin Mathers of Jarrettsville, MD, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father James Turk II of Havre de Grace, MD; his maternal grandparents Zilphia Delray and Rodney Hughes and his paternal grandparents Jacqueline and James Turk I.

James was born on March 31, 1990, in Havre de Grace, MD. During his childhood, he loved fishing, camping, riding dirt bikes and was a member of the Young Marines with aspirations to join the Marines. In 2009, he achieved that dream when he graduated from boot camp at Parris Island, SC, earning the title of United States Marine. James served most of his time with the 4th Combat Engineer Battalion in Baltimore, MD, until he was honorably discharged in February 2017.

Know as "Goose" by his brothers, his passion for riding motorcycles lead to him joining the Leathernecks Nation Motorcycle Club. In addition to his love of motorcycles, he collected guns and ammo (much to his wife's dismay). He also loved to make everyone laugh and help others which lead him to become a personal trainer.

He was also an incredible uncle to nieces Charolette ("Charlie"), Loreli, Maggie, Chloe, and nephews Dakota, Sebastian, Shane, Ben, Asher, Wesley, Logan, Hayden, Joshua, and Hudson.

As we say goodbye to James, we will remember the wise words of Master Yoda, "Do or do not. There is no try." While we grieve our loss, we are grateful for the life we were able to share with James.

A Celebration of Life will be held outside at the Joseph L Davis American Legion Post No. 47 in Havre de Grace, MD on Tuesday, March 30, starting promptly at 1 PM, followed by food, fellowship, and visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations may be made to the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots.
