Obituary

James Robert McCarron, age 83 years of Havre de Grace, Maryland died at his home on Monday morning, March 17, 2008. He was the husband of Ann H. (Kelly) McCarron. They observed their 23rd wedding anniversary on April 19, 2007.

Mr. McCarron was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 28, 1924 a son of the late Joseph Edward and Lena (Tumbro) McCarron. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, Jim was a member of the Joseph L. Davis American Legion Post #47 in Havre de Grace. He retired in 1987 after 40 years employment with the Philadelphia Electric Company. An avid reader and coin collector, he moved to Harford County from Philadelphia over 30 years ago.

He was a member of the Grace Memorial Episcopal Church in Darlington, Maryland.

In addition to his wife he is survived by six children:

One brother: Francis McCarron of Medford, New Jersey

One sister: Dorothy O'Connell of Avalon, New Jersey

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Marina Harkins, his sister; Anna Morgan and his brother; Joseph McCarron.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 20 at 2:45 p.m. at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, 1022 Main St., Darlington, MD.

Reverend Nick McDonald will officiate.

Interment with military honors will be in Darlington Cemetery.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Delta, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 35, Darlington, MD 21034
