JAMES L. SMITHSON, age 62 years of Street, MD, died on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. He was the husband of Karen M. (Delp) Smithson with whom he had shared 27 years of marriage.

Born on June 25, 1949 in the Fountain Green area of Harford County, MD, he was a son of the late William Lee Smithson, Jr. and Mabel Marie (Hopkins) Smithson. A lifetime resident of Harford County, Mr. Smithson had been employed as a truck driver at Crouse Construction in Aberdeen, MD for the past 20 years. He enjoyed working on cars and watching car races.

James W. Smithson of Salisbury, MD

Nine grandchildren

Two brothers:

Charles W. "Billy" Smithson and Robert D. Smithson, both of Street, MD

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Virginia Smithson.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, the 23rd at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Pylesville, MD

Pallbearers will be Donald Mullins, Donald Mullins, Jr., Isaiah Mullins, Derick Mullins, Erick Mullins and James Hutchins.

Honorary pallbearer will be Brock Fowler.
