JAMES R. WATSON, age 79 years of Delta, Pennsylvania died at York Hospital at 12:40 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2008. He was the husband of Nancy (Manifold) Watson. They observed their 58th wedding anniversary on October 30, 2007.

Mr. Watson was born in Delta on June 6, 1928 a son of the late Thomas R. and Katherine (Taylor) Watson. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from January 1946 to November 1947. He was employed as a truck driver for Robert H. Carr and Son, Malvern, PA for many years. From the early 1970's until his retirement, he worked as a tractor trailer mechanic for Auto Kraft in Brogue. Jim was a member of the Slateville Presbyterian Church, Delta for over 50 years, where he had served as both and Elder and Trustee. He loved his family and he loved his dog, Molly.

Three children: Susan Sanders and her husband Norman of Owings, Maryland

James Watson of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania

Thomas Watson of Delta

One sister: Jean Cantler of Delta

Two grandchildren: Shannon and Lauren, both of Owings, MD

Two step grandchildren: Terese and Joey of Clearwater, Florida

Four great grandchildren: James, Samantha and Riley, all of Owings, MD and Jarrett of Bel Air, Maryland

He was preceded in death by his brothers, G. Taylor Watson and Donald Watson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 1:00 p.m. at the Slateville Presbyterian Church, 308 Slateville Road, Delta, PA.

Reverend Harry R. Robinson will officiate.

Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
