Obituary

Janet Kay Nicholson

September 22, 1946 – December 10, 2025

With hearts full of both sorrow and gratitude, our family announces that Janet Kay

Nicholson peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 10, 2025,

at Upper Chesapeake Hospital in Bel Air, Maryland. Though our hearts ache, we rejoice

in knowing she is now resting safely in the arms of Jesus, reunited with her beloved

husband— Philip G. Nicholson Sr., a reunion she longed for and spoke of often. Her

greatest earthly desire has now been fulfilled in Heaven.

Born to Charles and Helen Earnest, Janet was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother,

grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her devoted sister

Beverly Hannah (Roger) and brother-in-law Bruce Nicholson (Gerry). Janet's greatest

joy in life was her family. She poured herself into her children Bryan Nicholson (partner

Christina), Terri Bracey (Alvin), and Geoff Nicholson (Deborah), and she adored each of

her seven grandchildren: Emily Heagy (Jake), Bryce Nicholson, Stephanie Boyd

(Brandon), Victor Bracey (Samantha), Leah Bracey (Ryan), Michael Bracey, and Sophia

Nicholson. Her heart overflowed again with the gift of eight great-grandchildren: Teslyn,

Landyn, Isaiah, Hopelyn, Annalee, Emmeline, Rowan, and Oliver, each one adding joy

and purpose to her life.

Janet was a proud Delta resident for over 50 years, and her roots in the community ran

deep. She served as a highly successful real estate agent for more than four decades,

guiding countless families through some of life's biggest moments. She was also a

dedicated member of Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church, where she worshiped, served,

and built lifelong friendships.

A woman of remarkable compassion and unwavering work ethic, Janet believed deeply

in caring for others. She gave her time freely and joyfully, always making sure those

around her were supported, encouraged, and loved. One of her greatest passions was

serving at the local polling station, a responsibility she held dear and fulfilled faithfully

every election day.

Janet lived her life with purpose, kindness, and devotion—to God, to her family, and to

her community. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, strength, and generosity

that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life service for Janet will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at
