Jean M. Morris, age 93 years, of Fawn Grove, PA died on Monday, December 19 at York Hospital. She was the loving wife of R. Roland Morris. They were married on November 18, 1939, having just celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Morris was born on May 24, 1918 in New Park, PA, a daughter of the late T. Ross and Effie (Brown) Wiley. She worked side by side with her husband- starting the Fawn Grove Service Station on April 1, 1940 and retiring together in 1982. She was a member of Fawn United Methodist Church since 1939, active in many aspects of the church and still singing in the church choir.

Mrs. Morris loved watching birds and tending her flowers. She enjoyed reading and many other creative activities. Mrs. Morris adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to her husband she is survived by 3 sons:

T. Richard Morris and his wife Eleanor of Matthews, N. Carolina

Robert E. Morris and his wife Beverly of Fawn Grove, PA

James R. Morris of Fawn Grove, PA

7 grandchildren- Scott, Craig, Todd, Ann, Marilyn and Tom Morris and Kelly Mallory.

8 great-grandchildren- Katie, Grace, Kensie, Brock, Jenna and Luke Morris, Travis and Megan Mallory.

She was preceded in death by a daughter in law Jane Morris.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 24 at 12 Noon at Fawn United Methodist Church with her Pastor David Stough officiating.

Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 AM - 12 Noon.

Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Fawn United Methodist Choir, 67 South Market Street, Fawn Grove, PA 17321 in honor of Jean's 72 years of dedication and service to the musical program at her church.
