Jerry McDonald Culpepper, Sr., 76, of Jarrettsville, Maryland, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, September 4, 2026. Born on February 20, 1950, in Chesapeake, Virginia, he was the son of the late Harry Joseph Culpepper and Helen Joyce Bradshaw Culpepper.
Jerry was a man who lived life with music in his heart, laughter in his soul, and an unwavering love for his family. Known for his generous spirit, sensitive heart, and wonderful sense of humor, Jerry had a way of making those around him feel welcomed, loved, and entertained. Whether he was sharing a laugh, lending a helping hand, or simply enjoying time with those closest to him, Jerry brought his own special personality to every occasion.
Music was one of Jerry's greatest passions and an important part of his life. A talented musician and entertainer, he was the lead singer and a musician in his band, "Tight." For more than 15 years, Jerry also hosted karaoke, bringing people together through music, laughter, and unforgettable memories. He loved entertaining others and found tremendous joy in sharing his passion for music with everyone around him.
When he wasn't making music, Jerry enjoyed spending time on the water, boating, and relaxing at the beach. He was an enthusiastic sports fan who loved cheering on the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens. He also had a passion for race cars and enjoyed the excitement that came with them. Above all, however, Jerry cherished the time he spent surrounded by family and friends.
Jerry's loving, faithful, and generous nature was matched by his playful personality. He could be a bit of a goofball, always ready with a joke or a reason to smile, but beneath that humor was a deeply caring and sensitive man who loved wholeheartedly. His presence brought warmth to family gatherings, and the memories he created will remain a lasting gift to those who knew and loved him.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of fourteen and a half years, Susan Culpepper; his children, Jerry Culpepper, Jr., Kara Beron, and Christopher Culpepper; his stepchildren, Catherine Borig and Tori Borig; and his seven cherished grandchildren, who brought tremendous happiness to his life.
He is also survived by his siblings, Shirley and Joel Culpepper; his former wife, Betty Culpepper, the mother of Kara and Christopher; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jo Culpepper Carroll.
A Celebration of Jerry's Life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Dublin/Darlington VFW. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, remember the good times, and celebrate a man whose love of music, laughter, and life touched so many.
While Jerry's voice may have grown quiet, the music he shared, the laughter he inspired, and the love he gave will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
