JOHN FRANKLIN FAMOUS, age 74 years, passed peacefully on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 from pancreatic cancer in his home in Street, Maryland. He was the husband of Gloria (Lucas) Famous.
Mr. Famous was born on November 26, 1932 on the family farm in Street, Maryland a son of the late Franklin Eli and Anna C. (Townsley) Famous. He was a lifelong residence of his farm in Mill Green, and a veteran of the United States Navy.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
Two daughters-
Jo Anna Harvey and her husband, Donald
Janet Wettig and her husband, Mark, both of Street
Four grandchildren:
Christopher Harvey and his wife, Julie, Kristine Harvey, Jason Wettig and Katelyn Wettig, all of Street
Two great grandchildren-
Liz Harvey and Chase Harvey, of Street
Two brothers-
Earl Famous
James Famous and his wife, Margaret, both of Street
Friends may call on Monday, October 15, 2007 from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM at Emory United Methodist Church, 911 Cherry Hill Road, Street, Maryland.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at the church with Reverend Dr. Paul Benjamin officiating.
Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Earl Famous, James Famous, Donald Harvey, Mark Wettig, Christopher Harvey and Jason Wettig.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Pruitt, Ken Myers, Tom Sadler, Gordon Smith, George Amos, Dick Norman and Blaine Linkous.
