JOHN ROBERT LAYTON, age 67 years, of Airville died on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 in his home.

Mr. Layton was born in Grafton, West Virginia on August 30, 1941; he was a son of the late James Harold and Mary D. (Boylen) Layton.

He was the owner/operator of J. R. Layton's Garage in Airville.

He is survived by:

A son, John Cecil Layton

A grandson, John Robert Layton

A step-son, Ty Edward Cornelius

Two step Grandchildren-Ty Edward Cornelius, Jr. and Marie Cornelius, all of PA

Two brothers-

Homer Leroy Layton of Delta and James Layton of PA

A sister, Barbara Matthews of Grafton, WV

Loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Wodzenski, Maxine Fast and Edna Litzinger Saunders.

The family will receive friends at Donald G. Ford Funeral Home, U.S. Rt. #60, Grafton WV on Friday from 4 to 9 PM and on Saturday from 10 to 11 AM. The funeral service will follow at 11 AM.

Interment will be in Bluemont Cemetery, Grafton, WV.
