Obituary

JOHN W. WALES, age 85 years, of Delta, Pennsylvania died on Monday, November 19, 2007 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. He was the husband of Emma O. (Matthews) Wales and they would have been married for sixty years on November 29th.

Mr. Wales was born on September 26, 1922 in Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania a son of the late Hugh and Steele (Gibney) Wales. In his younger years, Mr. Wales worked in agriculture at various farms. He later went to work in maintenance for the former Miller Chemical Company, first at the Whiteford, Maryland location and then serving at various locations. He spent most of his employment years working at the Hanover, Pennsylvania plant, retiring in 1993 with forty-five years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the Community of Christ Church-Gatchelville in New Park, Pennsylvania.

Johnny S. Wales and his wife, Diane of Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania

Lori A. Miller and her husband, Thomas of New Park, Pennsylvania

Five grandchildren-

Melissa Burgee of Delta, Pennsylvania

Bryan J. Burgee, Jr., currently serving the United States Marine Corp in North Carolina

Amy Martzall, Whitney Wales and Jamie Wales, all of Denver, Pennsylvania

Two great grandchildren-

Abigail Martzall and Kaitlyn Martzall, also of Denver.

A brother, Harold Wales of Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania

A sister, Grace Linkous of Pylesville, Maryland

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gardner Wales and a sister, Gladys Wales.

Services will be held at on Friday, November 23, 2007 at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania. Visitation will be held from 10:00 Am until 12 noon, The funeral service will follow beginning at 12 noon with Elder Sherry Vojcsik, Community of Christ Church of New Park, Pennsylvania officiating.

Interment will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York, Pennsylvania.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Burgee, Jr.; James Wales; Bryan Burgee, Sr.; Thomas Miller

Everett Linkous and John Johnson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Community of Christ Church-Gatchelville, 2286 New Park Road, New Park, PA 17352.
