He was the husband of 30 years to Theresa M. (Giannetti) Barker. Born in Keokee, VA on August 9, 1936, he was the only child born to the late Pearl Barker. Orphaned at the age of 6, he was taken into the family of his maternal uncle, Edgar O. Barker, and his wife, Gertrude G. Barker, and was raised the oldest of five children in their household. He is survived by two children (Beth and Timothy) – daughter, Beth R. (Barker) Powers and grandson, Jonathan H. Powers, both of Delta, PA; son, Timothy O. Barker and his wife, Charlene, of Fort Myers, FL, and their family (children Gena Welker and her husband, Jay, of Fort Myers, FL, Chris Smith and his wife, Amy, of Fort Myers, FL, and five granddaughters - Evelyn, Cailyn, Lily, Adriane and Brooklyn); step-daughter Donna Todd and her husband, David, of Naperville, IL, their sons, Jeremy and his wife, Rachel, and their sons Brody and Rhett, of Akron, OH; Benjamin and his fiancée, Jessica Friend, of North Canton, OH. Bobby is survived by the Giannetti brothers-in-law and their extended family – Tom, Ronnie, Donnie, John, and Anthony; his brother-in-law Michael and his wife Mary Grace preceded him in death. He is also survived by four siblings – Coy E. Barker of Bel Air, MD, Jimmy J. Barker of Airville, PA, Linda G. Seitz of Berlin, MD, and Carolyn F. Hokemeyer of Holly Springs, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Lee Barker, on June 7, 1966, and his son-in-law, Richard M. Powers, on September 29, 2020.
A very kind, gentle, fun-loving, jovial, humorous, and caring man, known for his quick wit, Bobby loved the Lord, his family and his country. He was a very hard worker, enjoyed the outdoors (gardening and maintaining his lawn), dining at local restaurants, and most importantly, encouraging people in the Lord. He served in the United States Air Force for 21 years and 29 days as a jet engine mechanic, and 28 years civil service as an electronics technician.
Interment with a private graveside memorial service will be held at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York, PA at the convenience of the family.
