JOSEPH JOHN TISZL, age 88 years, of Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania died on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Hart Heritage Estate in Street, Maryland. He was the husband of Anna J. (Kelly) Tiszl for over forty years and the late Mildred Tiszl.

Mr. Tiszl was born on February 16, 1920 in Baltimore, Maryland; he was a son of the late Joseph John and Anna (Wagoner) Tiszl. He was a WWII veteran serving in the United States Army. He worked for the former C&P Telephone Company while living in Catonsville, Maryland. After thirty-eight years of employment, he moved to Fawn Grove in 1983 to retire. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Parish in Pylesville, Maryland for over twenty-six years. He enjoyed traveling, crafts, gardening and stamp collecting. He enjoyed the history of WWII and sharing his experiences.

Ruth Murray Royston and her husband, Roger of Fredericksburg, Virginia

Martin Murray and his wife, Ann, also of Fredericksburg

Seven grandchildren

A nephew which he was very close with: Donald Welch of Ellicott City, Maryland

Visitations will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2008 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania with Rosary at 3 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 1, 2008 at 11 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Parish, 1021 St. Mary's Road, Pylesville, Maryland 21132.

Reverend A. Henry Kunkel, III will be the celebrant.

Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery with military honors presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Building Fund at the above address.

Pallbearers will be J. R. Royston, Matthew Murray, Amel Morris, Matt Beighley, Bob Kelly and Mike Griffith.
