LIFE STORY PREPARED BY HER FAMILY - Joyce Elaine Blake, 73 of Whiteford, MD, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, August 1, 2021. She was born August 14, 1947, in Havre de Grace, MD. Joyce loved to be around people. She was involved with her church. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years serving the Lord. She was involved with the Delta Peach Bottom Fish & Game club where she has been a member for many years and served as a treasurer. Joyce was also a hairdresser for over 40 years. She touched many lives throughout the years and made many friends along the way.

Joyce would never turn anyone away from her home without making sure they were fed and had anything they needed. She was always a good listener, a shoulder to lean on, a great friend, and all around an amazing individual.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Harold ROSS Blake; her daughter, Karen Hurt, and son-in-law, James Hurt; her son, Brian Miller; her step- daughter, Leisa Miller and her husband, Steve Miller; her grandchildren: Brent Miller, Brittany Coster, Velvet Miller, Patricia Miller, Morgan Vallejo, Christopher Hurt and Wyatt Miller; plus 4 great grandchildren: Gage, Reed, Harper, Hensley. She is also survived by her sister, Katherine Behrens and brother, David Sexton. Preceded in death by parents, son and two brothers.

There will be no services held, but will have a memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to her church: New Beginning Baptist Church, 301 Black Barren Road, Peach Bottom PA 17563.
