JULIA MARCELLE MITZEL, 81 of Darlington, MD, went to be with her Lord on Friday, September 10, 2021. Married on September 1, 2001, she was the beloved wife of Richard Martin Mitzel, and they celebrated their 20th anniversary this month. Her husband commented that she was a dedicated wife and friend.

Born on June 9, 1940 in Baltimore, MD, Judy was one of four children born to the late LeRoy and Elizabeth Irene (Hash) Crabbe and a 1958 graduate of North Harford High School in Pylesville, MD. Working as a secretary, she first was employed with Harford Christian School in Dublin, MD followed by Modular Components of Forest Hill, MD where she welcomed everyone and always made the customers feel at ease. Judy was fond of watching classic movies, reading and possessed a unique way of sensing the needs of others. She always followed her heart to use all of her abilities to meet those needs. Known to be a great listener, she also gave the most amazing hugs and her laughter was contagious. Judy loved to shop! She would leave no stone unturned so to speak to find that one bargain of the day.

Realizing the importance of faith, she strived to share her Christian beliefs and reflect the love of Christ in everything she did. Judy and her husband were members of Gateway Baptist Church where they worshipped on Sunday mornings and were faithful attendees of Franklin Baptist Church where they served the Lord on Sunday evenings. Her encouraging words and phone calls will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her brother, LeRoy Crabbe, Jr.

Please gather at Darlington Cemetery, Darlington, MD on Friday, September 17th at noon for the services. Pastor David Landers of Gateway Baptist Church, Rising Sun, MD will officiate.
