KEMPER REA YOWELL, age 73 of Fawn Grove, PA formerly of Charlottesville, VA died at 9:29 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Colonial Manor in York, PA. He was the husband of Suzanne (Markwood) Yowell. They observed their 51st. wedding anniversary on July 27, 2008.
Mr. Yowell was born in Trevillains, VA on April 29, 1935 a son of the late Kemper Rea and Martha Pauline (Ennis) Yowell.
He retired in 1994 from the CSX Corp. after forty years in the railroad industry. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958. He belonged to Fawn United Methodist Church, Widows Son's Lodge #60, Charlottesville, Keystone Royal Arch Chapter #58, Scottish Rite of Lynchburg, VA and the Boumi Shrine Temple and Tall Cedars of Baltimore. Mr. Yowell was also a member of the Citizens Volunteer Fire Company Police Division, Fawn Grove and the Baltimore Passenger Assn.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
Two daughters: Cynthia Davis and her husband David of Pylesville, MD
Susan Coster of Baltimore
Five grandchildren: David, Craig and Faith Davis and Savannah and Julianna Coster.
Two brothers: Jack B. Yowell
Robert P. Yowell, both of Charlottesville
He was preceded in death by his son, Kemper Rea Yowell, III
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 11 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fawn United Methodist Church, 67 S. Market St., Fawn Grove, PA with Pastor Jane Harrison officiating.
Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
The viewing will be held at the Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Delta, PA on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
