Mrs. Kimberly Ann Barnes (née Spare)
January 15, 1968 – December 29, 2025
Kimberly Ann Barnes, loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, nurse, and faithful servant of Christ, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025. She was 57 years old. Born on January 15, 1968, in Baltimore, Maryland, Kimberly was a lifelong Maryland resident who most recently made her home in Conowingo, Maryland.
Kimberly spent her early years growing up in Dundalk before her family moved to Harford County. She attended Harford Christian School, where she was known not only for her strong faith and kindness but also for her skill on the basketball court. From a young age, Kimberly showed determination, discipline, and a heart for helping others—qualities that would define her life.
She went on to pursue higher education at Cecil College, where she earned her nursing degree, graduating with honors and finishing second in her class. Kimberly proudly served as a registered nurse, beginning her career at Harford Memorial Hospital. She later became a nurse trainer with Patient First and eventually transitioned into telehealth nursing, where she continued to provide compassionate care and guidance to countless patients.
Family was the heart of Kimberly's world. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lula and William Kissinger, and her paternal grandfather, Bert Spare. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jeffery James Barnes; her cherished children, Sarah Ossai (and granddaughter Lilliana), Joshua Barnes, and Andrew Barnes (and grandchildren Ryker and Arya); and her loving parents, Sandra Spare and Bert Spare. She is also fondly remembered by her treasured cats, Jamie and Zoe.
Kimberly had a gift for making a house feel like a home. She loved gardening, reading, and baking, and she especially enjoyed decorating for holidays—Christmas being her favorite season of all. She was a regular volunteer at Bethesda Transformation Center Women's Shelter, giving her time and heart to serve others. A woman of deep faith, Kimberly loved Jesus and lived her life guided by compassion, service, and grace.
Known for her sense of humor and boundless energy, Kimberly was an early riser who loved staying busy and caring for those around her. She treasured family memories, particularly trips to Ocean City and Disney, and the joy of celebrating Christmas surrounded by loved ones.
Above all, Kimberly was an exceptional wife and mother who went above and beyond for her family. She loved her children fiercely, and they loved her just as deeply. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and selfless love will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.
