KRISTY SHANAHAN JONES, 44 years of Darlington, MD, died on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. She was the wife of Verner Frank "Buddy" Jones of Delta, PA.

Born on August 8, 1972 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of Francis and Diane (Barton) Shanahan of Darlington, MD and graduated in 1990 from Havre de Grace High School. She continued her education with Harford Community College where she received her nursing education, graduating in 2000. Kristy was employed with Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, working as a registered nurse in the nursery and obstetrics unit. She enjoyed going to the beach, bowling and was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan.

Three children-Robert Fizer and living at home-Taylor and Casey Jones.

A sister, Terri Adkins and brother, Michael Shanahan, both of Ocean City, MD

She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth John Shanahan.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA where the funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. Funeral home staff will be assisting with parking.

University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Chaplain Allen Seigel will officiate with interment in Darlington Cemetery.
