Mr. Kirkwood was the son of the late Kenneth Wright and Margaret (Shrodes) Kirkwood. He moved from White Hall to Baltimore, Maryland in 1973. He was of the United Methodist faith. Family members remarked that he enjoyed baseball and participating in a football fantasy league.

He is survived by:

Two daughters-Sharon Kirkwood of Baltimore, Maryland; Elizabeth Mitchell of Abingdon, Maryland

A son-Shane Kirkwood of Easton, Maryland

A step-sister-Kay Taylor of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania

A brother-Dean Kirkwood of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania

Six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
