Obituary

LARRY RAY WRIGHT, age 70 years, of Red Lion, Pennsylvania died on December 31, 2010 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Margaret (Cain) Wright and on Christmas Eve, they had celebrated their Golden Anniversary.

Born on May 26, 1940 in Delta, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Nelson and Edna (Pomraning) Wright. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and had previously lived in Hope Mills, North Carolina. Mr. Wright was a member of the Pine Grove Presbyterian Church in Airville, Pennsylvania and retired in 2004 from Brubacher Excavation in Bowmansville, Lancaster County. At the time of his retirement, he had been working as a construction superintendent.

A member of the NRA, Mr. Wright loved to go hunting. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, and spending time with his dog. Jazz. A musician, he wrote country and gospel music, and formed the Country Legends in 1964, a band that he sang and played with.

Duane Wright and his wife, Suzanne of Cockeysville, Maryland

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, the 5th at noon at Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, 4316 Delta Road, Airville, PA, 17302 with his pastor, Reverend James B. Shuler officiating.

Interment will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the church at the above address.
