LAVERNE H. KUESTER, age 79 years, of Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania, formerly of Aberdeen, Maryland, died on Thursday, December 3, 2009 in the Select Specialty Hospital section of York Hospital. She was the wife of Richard Kuester who died in 1982.
Born on October 11, 1930 in Delta, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late John Russell and Nellie (Williams) Harvey. She was a lifetime member of the Delta United Methodist Church where she was very active in services and activities. Retiring in 1987, she had worked as a bookkeeper for the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. She enjoyed antiquing, decorating her home and enjoyed spending time with her family.
LaVerne's passion was taking care of the many squirrels and chipmunks that surround her home.
She is survived by:
One Stepson: Greg Kuester and his wife, Cathy, of Bel Air, Maryland
Four Step Grandchildren: Mike Kuester, Kevin Kuester, Eileen Kuester and Kate Kuester
A sister, Nancy H. Workman of Delta, Pennsylvania
Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, Gary Kuester and her siblings-
Marie White, Audrey Towson, Shirley Miller, Mary Anne Lloyd, Charles Harvey, Bud Harvey, Paul Harvey, Howard Harvey and Robert Harvey.
