Obituary

LEONARD CLAY ARNOLD, age 91 years, died on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. He was the husband of Ruth M. (Calhoun) Arnold with whom he had shared 71 years of marriage.

Born on February 6, 1920 in West Jefferson, North Carolina, he was a son of the late James Larkin and Mary Catherine (Jones) Arnold. Mr. Arnold had worked for Aberdeen Proving Ground during WWII. He also had worked as a barber in Cardiff, Maryland, as a machinist for the former Glenn L. Martin Company in Baltimore, Maryland and retired in 1985 from Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station where he had been employed as a carpenter's foreman.

Mr. Arnold was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Delta-Peach Bottom Fish & Game. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:

A daughter, Kathleen A. Stables and her husband, Bobby Ray of Perryville, Maryland

A grandson, Ronald Johnson and his wife, Paula of Northeast, Maryland

Two great granddaughters:

Chandis and Caitlyn Johnson, both of Northeast, Maryland.

He was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Arnold on May 25, 2005.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, 1510 Deep Run Road, Whiteford, Maryland with interment in the adjoining church cemetery.

His minister, Pastor Cindy Caldwell will officiate.
