LEWIS R. SMELTZER, SR., age 77 years of Shrewsbury and formerly of Red Lion, Pennsylvania, died on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Catherine (Wise) Smeltzer.
Born on December 16, 1932 in Windsor Twp, PA, he was a son of the late Clarence and Edna Mae (Fisher) Smeltzer. He was a veteran of the US Navy, and had owned and operated Smeltzer's Taxidermy in Red Lion for over 25 years.
He is survived by:
A son, Lewis R. Smeltzer, Jr., of Homosassa, Florida
A daughter, Linda S. Craley of Felton, Pennsylvania
Five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren
A brother, Harold Smeltzer of Cleveland, Ohio
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Stonepile United Methodist Church, 250 Bethlehem Church Rd., Red Lion, PA 17356
His pastor, Reverend Thomas R. Osenbach will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Interment with military honors will be in McKendree Cemetery, Airville, Pennsylvania
