LILLIAN ELIZABETH MULLINS, age 86 years, of Aberdeen, Maryland died on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, Maryland. She was the wife of Forest Mullins who died on August 11, 1990.
Born on July 14, 1922 in Highspire, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Loymon S. and Norah I. (Nickel) Mortorff. Previously living in Airville, Pennsylvania, she moved to Aberdeen sixty years ago. She was a volunteer having dedicated over 6, 000 hours of service at the Veterans Maryland Health Care Center in Perry Point. She was a member of the American Legion Post #128 and the VFW Post #10028, both in Aberdeen. Mrs. Mullins cared for chickens and sold eggs at the VFW in Aberdeen. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo, and raising tomatoes.
She is survived by:
Three sons-
Scott E. Mullins of Airville, Pennsylvania
Forest F. Mullins and David R. Mullins, both of Aberdeen
Six grandchildren and two great grandchildren
Three sisters-
Ethel Riley and her husband Ernest of York, Pennsylvania
Louise Stearn of Red Lion, Pennsylvania
Nora Brown of the Collinsville area of Brogue, Pennsylvania
Three brothers-
Lloyd Mortorff and his wife, Emma of York
George Mortorff and his wife, Elelouise of Airville
Layman Mortorff of York, Pennsylvania
Numerous nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by three siblings.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2009 from 6 to 8 PM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania where the funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday.
Reverend Lonna C. Smith will officiate.
Interment will be in Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta.
