IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lisa Marie
Overbay
December 14, 1968 – May 11, 2023
Life story lovingly prepared by her family: Lisa Overbay, 54, of Conowingo, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on May 11, 2023. Born on December 14, 1968, to Robert and Phyllis Prell, Lisa was a vibrant spirit who left a mark on everyone she encountered.
Lisa was born in Buffalo, NY and was able to experience living in Florida and Pennsylvania prior to settling down in Maryland with her parents. Lisa then attended Bel Air High School and Harford County VoTech, starting her journey in the field of healthcare. She dedicated herself to caring for others as a nursing assistant at Calvert Manor, where she made a significant impact on numerous lives. A creative spirit at heart, Lisa found a second passion in "flipping" furniture after being diagnosed with cancer. She had a unique talent for transforming discarded pieces into beautiful works of art, an accomplishment she took immense pride in.
Lisa was married to her loving husband, Dennis Overbay, for 12 years, but their bond and companionship extended over a beautiful quarter of a century. Together, they raised two children, Bradley Adams and Amber Hull, who were the center of Lisa's universe. She was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild at the time of her passing.
A woman of many hobbies, Lisa was an avid crafter. Whether it was crocheting, using her Cricut, or painting, she loved to create. Her enthusiasm for life was infectious, as was her love for a fun night at the casino, a good Karaoke session, and the friendships she found in these pursuits.
Lisa's vibrant personality was a beacon to those around her. Known for her kindness and capacity to befriend anyone, Lisa was also unapologetically herself - with her stubbornness and occasional potty mouth endearing her to her many friends. Her dedication to improving people's lives, both through her work at Calvert Manor and her everyday actions, was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Special family memories include camping trips to Harpers Ferry, strolls along the Ocean City Boardwalk, experiencing The Lion King in New York City, and simply relaxing on the porch, surrounded by the laughter and love of her family.
Lisa is survived by her brother Robert Prell and preceded in death by her brother Joseph Prell.
A viewing will take place on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Harkins Funeral Home, Inc., 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.
