Livio William Cillo, Jr., 88, of Frederick, MD, died at Edenton Retirement Community, on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Livio was born in Williamsport, PA, to his late parents, Livio Americus and Anna E. (Hunter) Cillo. His beloved spouse, Della Christine (Turnmire) Cillo died on April 28, 2012.
Livio was a graduate of Williamsport High School and Lycoming College. He served the United States Army Honorably as a Jumpmaster in the 82nd Airborne Division, Armored Reconnaissance. Livio cherished his time spent in the Army and he enjoyed sharing the stories of his many experiences. He was a lover of both American and military history and was a well-known collector of military memorabilia.
After graduating from college, he began working for the federal government as a computer programmer. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling to historical places, his favorite was Colonial Williamsburg. He also enjoyed fishing in the outback of Canada with his friends. Livio will be remembered as a man who was financially generous to a fault. His family will miss his colorful personality, adventurous storytelling and unconditional love.
Livio is survived by his first wife of 21 years, Mary (Molly) Margaret Yaple and their four children; Livio Cillo, III, of Frederick, MD, Margaret Louise Callaghan and her husband, Patrick, of Frederick, MD, Roger Alburn Cillo and his former wife, Jeanine (Martin) Cillo, of Wilmington, DE, Gara Carmen Cillo, of Freemont, CA, Wayne Edgar Turnmire and his wife Cassey, of Abingdon, MD and Bert Russell Turnmire and his wife Elizabeth Jean, of Darlington, MD. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one sister, Anna (Cillo) Burkhart.
In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Livio was predeceased by his brothers, Adolph Cillo and Robert Cillo.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA. The funeral service will begin at Noon in the chapel of the funeral home with Deacon Lee Benson of St. Ignatius Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at Darlington Cemetery, Darlington, MD.
